1740's Light Fusil (578)
These light fusils keep showing up in American Collections. They have the early banana shaped locks and are dated in the early 1740’s. They have 42” round barrels in .66 caliber. The furniture is exactly the same as First Model Brown Bess in reduced carbine size. These are possibly the light fusils that were issued during the French and Indian War. Very slender fusil with 1742 dated lock.
