Third Pattern Enfield (736 C)
This is the most common of the Enfield’s, it was manufactured between 1858 to 1863 by many contractors, at Enfield and London Armory. It is distinguished by a thick body jag head ramrod, a return to the screw clamping bands, and a much wider ramrod channel groove. The nose cap is also held on by a screw in this 3rd model. This is also the first model to use progressive depth rifling.
