Pattern 1833 Manton Carbine (747)
This carbine is the last official flint lock of the British Army and was a result of the trials that began in 1827, it is a composite of many ideas. It is .62 or .66 caliber with a 20" barrel. The lock is very similar to Nocks screwless lock but has an external hammer so moisture couldn’t creep into the lock mortise. The lock plate measures 5 3/8" x 1 1/8". The throw of the cock is 1 1/2".
