This lock was designed by Baker with all the improvements he thought necessary for a well made Military lock. It has the high semi water proof pan, tumbler has a fly, it has two holes in plate to hold springs so lock can be dismounted without spring clamps and has a taller frizzen with a lip on the top to keep your hand from sliding off in the heat of the battle and gashing your hand on a flint. Most of these went to the East India Company, but many were used on Volunteer Rifles. The lock is marked “E.Baker” and measures 5 3/4" x 1 1/26". The throw of the cock is 1 5/8".
