Regimental Contract Brown Bess (857)
Up until 1740 each regiments Colonel could procure it’s muskets as long as they were close to the standard pattern. During this time some very nice muskets were made. We located an added one of these contract pieces, it is in all respects exactly the same as the Ordnance pattern, but it has slightly slimmer proportions and is a very striking piece. The trigger guard is slightly slimmer in size, most other hardware is the same size as our (542). The stock is much more graceful in handling. It has a 46" tapered round barrel, in .77 caliber.
