1842 Percussion Musket (861)
This was the last percussion smoothbore musket, it has an all new lock. The barrel has a rear sight and is set in with (3) keys. The side lock screws use the small brass cups instead of a side plate. These were made until 1853. Between 1852 and 1855 over 26,000 were rifled and fitted with long range rear sights. The barrel is 39", in .75 caliber. There were also Sea Service versions rifled with a 30 1/4" barrel. These will be available by mid to late summer.
