1796 Heavy Dragoon Carbine (865)
This carbine was designed with the idea of standardizing the caliber to be able to use musket ammunition. It has the full slit stock ramrod groove to trigger guard so dirt and mud would not lock the ramrod in or out. Examples are known with either sling swivels or side sling bar with a 26" barrel, in .77 caliber. This was the standard issue Dragoon Carbine until the late 1830’s.
