Early English Sea Service Pistol (559)

Phil Ackerman came up with this nice specimen which we copied. This is the early model 1777 Sea Service with the two screws showing behind the cock. This lock is also bridleless with a round bottom pan. The 1756 pattern lock is identical, except that it has one screw showing behind the cock and has a octagonal pan. This pistol is all brass mounted except for the belt hook. It has a 12" tapered round barrel in .62 caliber. The lock plate measures 5 3/16" x 7/8". The throw of the cock is 1 1/2".
