1786 Mousqueton D Hussard (866)
The Hussar’s Carbines were 2" shorter than the Cavalry Carbines. The barrel is 27 3/4" in length, in .66 caliber. This model is the rammer to butt type. The forestock is even shorter with a front band that has a long tail on it that interlocks under the rear band. It has all brass mounting except for the rear band and trigger plate. Again during the French Revolution these will be all iron mounted with a bayonet lug added. Then in 1810 (Year 9) they went back to brass mounts with the new frizzen.
