Right Hand Early Matchlock (528)
This is a nice full size matchlock musket from the Pierre Cayla Collection and is almost identical to the one in the Army Museum in Paris used by the Kings Musketeer’s. The barrel is 46" long, octagon to round, in .75 or .77 caliber. Even this size gun is still fairly light weight, weighing only 8 1/4 pounds. One nice thing about these early matchlocks is that almost all countries used about the same stock style until quite late, so you can use the same gun in different areas of collecting and reenacting. We also have remade the lock in a left hand version below for you south paw’s. The lock plate measures 8" x 1". You can taper it, put double angles on it or leave it as they are. You can use a trigger or trigger lever with this lock. When ordering a parts set, please specify whether you want a trigger guard and trigger or a trigger lever.
