Scottish Musket (665)
John Burger has this very scarce Scottish Musket in his Collection and has allowed us to copy it. It is a very early piece with a lateral sear that catches the cock at the front for half cock. It has a 42" tapered octagon to round barrel in .62 caliber. It is interesting to know that the Scott’s were hired by many French and German as guards for their family and property. This piece came out of a German Castle and was part of a small arsenal with about a dozen of these almost identical pieces. The lock plate measures 6 1/4" x 1 1/4". The throw of the cock is 1 3/4".
