Swedish 1738-1747 Musket (908)

Thanks to Thomas Roth at the Royal Swedish Army Museum and Helge C. Engebretson in Norway for their help on this section.

The Swedes used this standard pattern flat-faced lock on their muskets from the late 1730’s all the way to 1760’s. It is of very high quality for a military lock. The lock measures 6 3/4" x 1 1/4" and the 1747 uses the dog catch as shown. The 1738 does not have the dog catch. The throw size is 1 9/16".
