Model 1807 Springfield Indian Carbine (809)
n 1807 the government needed some small lightweight guns for the Indian Department and had Springfield Armory develop this gun. They have a 33 3/4" tapered round smoothbore barrel in .54 caliber. Some of these were modified in 1814 by the addition of sling swivels. Thanks to Bob Fisch and Gary Mikelson for their wonderful help with this project. These are very slim, lightweight weapons and would make a great hunting gun for a young boy or woman.
